The wireless at our B&B has been spotty, so I've basically got a couple of posts that are all getting dumped at the same time. Sorry about that.
Our Christmas present from my in-laws was a weekend away. So ARR has been having a marvelous time with his grandparents, who among other things were given a child-sized guitar by a friend of theirs. Which ARR has apparently been glued to. There's a step down from the kitchen into their living room--he made them all go sit on the couch, and then stood up on the step to properly perform from the stage. (I don't think he's even seen a proper stage yet. This is just how he decided it must be done.) My sister-in-law
hutubachick posted possibly the most adorable video ever to Facebook (I may be biased) in which he sings "Happy birthday to Mommy" while accompanying himself on the guitar. It's a little muddled and I think on one line he may have gotten confused and substituted "monkey" for "mommy". The sung notes are a little random and the played notes are obviously completely random. It's basically the very best birthday present of all time.
Meanwhile, we've been up in Jim Thorpe. On Saturday, we went to visit
fairest and
ecmyers, and fortunately managed to catch
trinityvixen. Let's be honest, thought--we were mostly there for baby cuddles. Which were received in abundance. Little R was remarkably good about hanging out while we all ate dim sum--way more so that ARR was at his age.
Other than that...we have done very little. We saw
Into the Woods, we ate a lot of very good food, we read books and watched some movies and wandered around town a little. And slept. A lot. There's a Jacuzzi tub in our room, and a bottle of wine. Actual relaxing may have happened. It's been awhile.
