Successful experiment
Nov. 13th, 2013 09:33 pmWith the exception of a Friendly's that probably never wants to see us again, Baby's First Con went remarkably well. (As did Mommy's First Reading/Signing, but really, who do you care about here?) Oh, and I'm pretty sure after the midnight and 5:45 am wakeups, our neighbors hated us. (Which is why I was in the lobby by 6:30am. With a little man who needed to thoroughly explore the conversation pit, and do all his squealing somewhere people weren't trying to sleep.)
I finally fully appreciate the mediocre family chain restaurant, though. I had not really thought through the incredible appeal of a restaurant with a dozen high chairs, changing tables in the restroom, a small child in every third booth, and the ability to clean up a pint of vomit without blinking. I felt a lot less bad about our disaster of a dinner than I would have somewhere nicer.
