Dear Healthcare company
Dec. 1st, 2012 03:32 pmThank you for checkingup on me--I know you want to know how my pregnancy is going mostly so you can tell if you're going to have any sudden massive expenses to cover, but we'll pretend it was to be nice. Also, I appreciate being able to do this online as well as the phone.
Two things, though.
If you're going to make me put in a username in an email format (and repeat it), may I suggest you not then ask me for my email? Twice? I just gave you an email address. Did I really have to type it four times in a row?
If, in the list of things that might keep me from getting adequate care (including financial difficulties, lack of social support, non-correctable vision problems, etc), the thing keeping me from managing to get proper care was in fact a difficulty in reading...how exactly do you think I managed to get through the last three pages of online forms? Even if I can't read, if I have someone who's willing to wade through all the paperwork with me, they're probably also willing to wade through the rest of the paperwork with me, and I'll be fine. Either that, or I'm just checking off random boxes like a crazed monkey, in which case I don't think this form is going to help either of us much.
In the big scheme of things that insurance companies do, this is positively benign. Touching, even. I know you folks often balk at preventative medicine, and I appreciate that you're being sensible about this and realize that giving me as much help as possible to have a safe and healthy pregnancy means you'll probably have way fewer bills to take care of after. I just think perhaps you didn't think your form quite all the way through, is all.
