Giving up the ghost

I think the Christmas cookies may have killed my handmixer's motor. That last batch was just too thick. Fortunately, I got all the batters done before it died. (Also, fortunately, I think I have a back up handmixer. We keep having mixers die in different ways--I think I now have enough unbroken parts to make a Frankenmixer.)

In a fit of brilliance, I managed to choose all cookies that need to be chilled for an hour and up for this year's cookies. So I've now just made all the batters, completely filling the fridge with every bowl in the house. I've been cooking for two and a half hours and have yet to actually bake a cookie.
