Not even a First World Problem
Sep. 1st, 2011 01:55 pmI'd call this a First World Problem, only I know people in the First World who have much worse problems.
The hotel in the Bahamas we were supposed to go to for our fifth anniversary took hurricane damage and is closed until November. (We're getting our money back. But now we have nonrefundable plane tickets to nowhere.) I personally know people still struggling with huge impacts to property and jobs and the like from the hurricane, so I really shouldn't complain about losing a couple hundred dollars for a vacation. But still. Sucky.
Spend my whole lunch hour frantically researching alternative uses of time and plane tickets.
Also, scheduling. Man, there are a lot of cultural events and trips to see friends I wanted to do this fall. Yeesh. I've got up to three road trips, three dance performances, and two operas that I'm juggling around the vacation, dance performance, and Philharmonic concert I'm already committed to. Not all of these are going to happen. Need to make some choices.
