At night, I dream about watching my feet climb over rocks.
I'd wondered if I was losing weight on the trip, since some of my clothes seemed to be getting baggier. But since I was sleeping in them and wearing them constantly, I thought they might be getting stretched out. When I got home, I checked and found I was a pound or two heavier than when I left. Ok, I was eating a lot of food, sounds reasonable.
But
ivy03 commented on seeing me that it looked like I lost weight. And my non-worn-for-a-week pants seem loose. So I pulled out the tape measure. Apparently my waist is an inch and a half narrower than when I last measured it. (Which was about four months ago, but still.)
I guess I put on more muscle over the week?
(One awesome thing about backpacking--you can eat whatever the heck you want, as long as it's desnsely caloric. So much Nutella. And nuts. And chocolate covered nuts. And pop tarts for breakfast every day, when I never let myself eat pop tarts because they're essentially giant cookies. And cheese. And I think I mentioned the day with half a pie for breakfast.)
