Work on the bustle skirt is going well, but my poor hands are suffering as a result. I managed to put the sewing machine needle right through the side of my left index finger (graceful, Jeth). Plus, there's an enormous amount of gathering required, which involves pulling a single thread for a fair amount of time. A couple of my fingers are kind of cut up now. The ruffles look great, but man, I'm having some trouble typing with the band-aids.

I went to a Persian restaurant over the weekend (which was excellent), and I'm eating the leftovers now. Still delicious.

It's funny, though, because now I can actually see my food. The restaurant was a very nice, classy restaurant, at night, and so the lighting was soft and dim. In the harsh light of my office, my food's color is positively lurid. The saffron rice is really yellow, the cherry rice is a very off-putting shade of pink, the stew is really unattractive. (It all still smells and tastes wonderful, I'm not complaining.) But it's impressive how much better things look in romantic lighting and good plating versus in a plastic tupperware under florescents.
