Went to ICON this weekend. Kind of a clusterfuck, but we had a reasonably good time anyway. (They lost their old site, and had the con spread across three locations, each 15-20 minutes away from each other by car. It was a bit of a disaster.)
We ran the gamer dating/sex panels we did last year, to wild success. We were in a fairly small room (see above re:clusterfuck), and hit the fire regulations capacity and they started having to turn people away at the door.
So we did two panels back to back. Later, I realized we'd forgotten to actually introduce ourselves at the beginning of the second one. This was critical because halfway through the second panel, a guy raised his hand, and said, "I'm sorry, but I have to leave. But I only stayed because I wanted to give you my number." I was a little floored - not because I've never been hit on before, but because I've never been blatantly propositioned in public while standing next to my husband. I explained that I was indeed happily married - to this guy, and noted that apparently we'd forgotten to mention that at the beginning of the panel. He made a comment along the lines of "uh, sorry, yay public humiliation" and I made the room give him a round of applause for having learned useful lessons from our How to Pick Up Chicks panel regarding getting up the courage to ask girls out. Felt a little bad though - I feel like I probably could have handled it more articulately in shooting him down, I just wasn't expecting that at all.
Still, super flattering!
