Iron and Wine concert
Nov. 18th, 2008 09:32 amLessons from last night's concert:
1. There's a reason I don't do this concert-on-a-weeknight thing. So tired...
2. If your band's style is "randomly copy your favorite bands, with each song being a different band ranging from Genesis to Aerosmith" - it's time to go home and work on a style before coming back out again. I'm looking at you, opening band.
3. If you're going to be backlit a lot, especially with pink lights, the mullet is not the look for you. I'm looking at you (and wincing), percussionist #2.
4. The more different kinds of percussion you have on stage, the more awesome. (Chimes! Bongos! Temple blocks!)
5. Getting there early and getting footstools to sit on = excellent.
Nice concert. Sleepy now.
