Meant both sarcastically and not.

We went down to Philadelphia this past weekend for some friends and family time. The actual friends and family time was lovely - saw my brother for the first time since Christmas, my parents, and an aunt and uncle, plus Spring and Michelle. Yay for visiting people!

The trip down, though - sheesh. Our bus driver got lost. We were supposed to stop in Mt. Laurel, Camden, and Philadelphia. We got to Mt. Laurel fine. I grew up in the area, so when we left Mt. Laurel and east instead of west, I was slightly confused. But I've been in enough buses where the bus driver knew some bizarre little shortcut that was totally counterintuitive that I wasn't too concerned - I figured we were going to make a turn off onto some little backroad and end up miraculously where we needed to be. And, lo and behold, we turned onto a little backroad...did a U-turn...and ended up back on the road we started on, going east. Well, ok, going east on this road will get us to Camden. Maybe he just took a wrong turn coming out of the parking lot. I went back to my book. And looked up and realized we were on a different road. Now, this road also goes to Camden, so I wasn't too concerned. Until we turned off that one, too. I was debating going up to say something when we turned onto a third road that would get us to Camden. And then get off it and get back onto the first road. About a block from the bus station, actually. People are starting to complain and insist we were on the wrong road. A oouple of us insist we are on the right road, if only we would just stay on it until we get to the exit for the bridge. We manage to convince people we don't need to change roads again. Now everyone is paying attention. We see the exit. We start calling to the driver "We need to get off at this exit. We need to get off at this exit. We...we needed to get off at that exit!"

Long story shortened, after several more arguments, a couple more random turns, and nearly hitting a parked car, we managed to get the guy safely into Philly. At no point did he seem to know where he was. It wasn't like he took a wrong turn and got confused - it was like he knew how to get from New York to Mt. Laurel, and then had absolutely no idea what to do next. We not only had to tell him which side of the block to pull in on, but which of the bus slots was his. Sheesh.
