Deliciousness

One of my coworkers and I went out to lunch today. He wanted to try this new place on the Upper West Side called "Funky Diner". It's adorable! Someone who loves food clearly put all their effort into the food and cut corners everywhere else - the place really does look like it was lovingly but very cheaply made into a restaurant. (Exposed ceiling, plain paint, very little in the way of decoration or finesse). It's an oddly European bit of Americana; they've got oldies playing and the menu features burgers, meatloaf sandwiches, and mac and cheese - next to the sweet and savory crepes, gelato, and scones with clotted cream. I had a crepe with chicken, mushrooms, and rosemary cream and a raspberry hot chocolate that tasted like a liquid Lindt raspberry truffles.

Must go back for scones and dessert.
