Yuck

Well, it's disgusting out there. Freezing rain on top of an inch or two of snow. Almost broke an ankle coming down the stairs.

I feel bad for any women in New York who were planning to wear slinky dresses and heels to dinner tonight. Wonder how many will still do it?

One of the other departments' heads just got a great job offer and is leaving the museum. His assistant started the same day I did, and we worked pretty closely together. She just got fired because her boss is leaving and they don't know how long it will take to replace him. I feel really bad for her - she left a good job she liked to come here. She's been here almost two months exactly. I really like her, and now I pity her.

And realize how very lucky I am that our positions were not switched.
