Useless day
May. 10th, 2006 03:54 pmSo today was one of the days where we had an all company meeting in Stamford. The problem is...the Stamford office connections went out. We could get internet, but we couldn't actually access our own servers. Kinda problematic and all.
After several hours of doing nothing, the people who had really, really time critical stuff bundled into a car and drove to the CEO's house, where he had internet access that let them VPN into the servers. (Yes, we had to leave the building to access our own servers.) I went home. I've been working from home this afternoon. Thing is, I didn't get here until 2:15. So I left home at 7 am this morning, and came back at 2, and did literally nothing in the interim. I would have been more productive, it turns out, if I had never left home.
Sigh.
