Somehow the changeover happened without me noticing. Summer's basically over. And I'm not going back to school for the first time I can really remember. Seventeen years? More if you include preschool. It's strange. Kind of nice not to divide the seasons so arbitrarily - summer trails off gracefully instead of slamming to an end. Fall is just about apples and slowly coloring leaves instead of back-to-school sales and buying books and new classes. But it's strange.
