I've spent most of Dead Week running, it feels like.
The week before graduation, but after finals, is time for most seniors to chill and catch up on sleep. But if you're in the band and an a cappella group, things get a little busier.
Not to say it isn't fun, mind you. But I feel like there were a million things I meant to do before graduation, and I'm having trouble getting everything done.
Besides the myriad of packing up chores and getting files together, I'm trying to finish officer notes for Wildcats, keep a dying computer on life support, keep up with 'Cats rehearsals, and plan a trip to Europe. Meanwhile, the band is doing its level best to distract me.
It's been a fun week. There was capture the flag at midnight on the golf course. Staying up all night at Campus playing board games and watching movies. A trip to see Star Wars on an IMAX screen at King of Prussia. And the infamous White Castle Meat Product Tolerance Competition. The band goes to White Castle and eats as many hamburgers as possible. You get style points for creativity - two or three at a time, adding chicken rings, etc. (What on earth made them decide to make rings of chicken? WTF?) I had five, and then stopped. I ended up driving people home because they were too sick to operate their cars. The full totals haven't come out yet, but several people hit their lifetime 100 marks.
Much left to do. Music to correct and notes to finish and plaid to sew on jackets. And a beach-themed party tonight that is totally incongruous with the dismally cold and damp weather. All I can say is, it had better not rain on graduation.
