I could have danced all night

Well, probably not if it had been with Rex Harrison. Sorry, a little too much My Fair Lady.

Had a really good dance class. Managed to land a ballroom team alum come back to visit as a partner. Wow, waltz is rather different when the guy really knows what he's doing. It's a really...large dance, if that makes any sense. You seem to cover an awful lot of floor very quickly. I ended up just closing my eyes and letting him lead - actually danced better when I wasn't trying to figure out where we were going and just followed what he was telling me with his hands. (Ok, that sounded maybe a little dirty. It really isn't, I swear - waltz is the most ludicrously formal dance ever. You're not even really supposed to look at each other, and the only real contact you have with the guy is where your hands touch, his hand on your shoulder blade, and yours on his bicep.)

I got kind of confused with rhumba, though. The first steps are easy, but they went through the latest one (which is kind of complicated) in a sort of disjointed way. I had a lot of trouble putting it together, and since the guy's doing something totally different, my partner couldn't help me much. I'm still not sure I have it right.

Watched the end of the Oscars with Brian and crew. Brian makes a fabulous frozen grasshopper, I must say. Highlight of the evening.
