You know what makes it really hard to have a baking party? Having your oven refuse to turn on.

Landlord's trying to get it fixed, but there was a totally awesome (by which I mean not at all awesome) moment last night when I realized that the oven was not on at all and dinner was in fact, still frozen. Kind of a problem.

Ah, but the day was saved, and the caramel bars were a big hit. I accidentally forgot to share them with folks at DS9 night, even :)

Oh that's so frustrating. Something similar happened to me a while back with a burner not fully plugged in...

"Huh. Everything else is done, why isn't the pasta water boiling yet?"

"Damn, it's slow to heat up today."

"Okay, it doesn't take 30 minutes to boil water, what is going ON!!"

Remove pot, feel above burner, no heat.

Smack forehead.
