Moving
I have furniture.
chuckro and I took a trip to Ikea last night. We are now proud owners of a kitchen table, four chairs, three bookshelves, a cd shelf, a dresser, and a queen sized bed frame. Mattress shopping is tonight. It was an adventure - barely managed to fit it all in the car. And some of the boxes were sooo heavy - lots of fun to get up the stairs into the building.
Most of my stuff is in Jersey City now. Hurrah! ...now I just have to unpack it and put it all away. Dammit.

Let me just also say, for the peanut gallery, that building a boatload of new furniture and totally rearranging your apartment is...just like moving, really. Except any mysterious stains you find you probably made yourself.

At least this way you don't have to pay movers. And it probably costs a lot less than moving.

Ikea, though...is great. Did you eat there? Going there and wandering around all the little "rooms" and having swedish meatballs is one of my favorite dates. ;)

No, we didn't eat there. We didn't get everything checked out until about 15 minutes before closing.

So when we came back from IKEA, I knew what the right way to go was.

Did you hear about the Ikea opening in England where the employees tried to close the doors half an hour after opening due to an unforeseen, crazy number of people and the people stampeded (crushing quite a few people who had to go to the hospital) and broke their windows? All because of a furniture sale. *shakes her head in amusement*

Update: I have completed building my dresser. Only took me four or five hours...sheesh there were a lot of pieces...
