Going to a restaurant for dinner tonight that specializes in empanadas. Like, 15 or 20 different kinds of empanadas - beef and chicken and veggie and cheese and spices and seafood and chocolate and peanut butter and fruit and - ok, I'll stop. I'm ridiculously excited by this, for some reason.

Mmmm, I love dumpling-like foods. Chocolate empanadas sound really tasty. What's the name of this place?

We found an empanada restaurant in Manhattan that also has a zillion kinds of empanadas (including dessert ones) and, to my delight, arepas! That was a good day. I'm assuming you're not heading into NYC for this, but if you are, is it Empanada Mama?

Why, yes, yes it is. (I work in Manhattan, and the friend we're meeting for dinner does too. I think most of the times I go out for dinner on weeknights, it's in Manhattan.)

I had a green-olive and beef empanada once that blew my mind. Wish I had a recipe.
