Back goes poing!

Is it possible to throw out your back while sleeping? I woke up in the middle of the night when the back muscles under my shoulder suddenly seized up. I had to wake up Chuckro and get him to massage them out a bit because I was having trouble breathing, it hurt so much. Every time I expanded my ribcage, I got a fresh wave of stabbity goodness.

It's still harpstring-tight and painful. I'm moving really gingerly. What the heck, back?

Yes. My grandfather has done that before.

I suggest heating pads, advil, and not carrying anything.

I've taken the Advil. This does put a bit of a damper on the plan to go buy a laptop after work, though.

Perhaps we'll leave that off until tomorrow.

But I'm supposed to go out with the team for drinks tomorrow to say goodbye to a departing coworker.

And then Wednesday-Friday are booked. Doh. Do you want to go compare them tonight, and then we'll buy one online and have it shipped?

[identity profile] jethrien.livejournal.com 2008-12-08 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably.

Bleh. It's cold out. But I don't really have any chance to do this before Christmas other than tonight.

Not unless we want to schlep into Manhattan on Saturday, not really. I'm sorry. The other option is ordering one online, sight-unseen.

If you do go and everything is in stock, call me and we'll go over details. If you decide not to go, we'll pick a new strategy when you get home.

Yikes. Take it easy. What laptop did you decide on?

Haven't - the expedition was to go compare the Wind to the Eee.

I can rub it some more when you get home; we can also try the Iceyhot stuff, if you'd like--that seemed to be a big help the last time my back was really cranky.

The fine folks at ThermaCare have gotten me through a lot of pain over the years. They basically make wearable heating pads that last for about 8 hours.
