Where I am supposed to be, and where I am not

Right now, I'm supposed to be on a plane taking off to go to a friend's wedding in Florida, in which I am a bridesmaid.

Currently, I am sitting at my computer at home.

Thank you, Delta, for not telling us that you'd cancelled our flight.

They actually did try to get us onto a Continental plane on the other side of the airport that was leaving imminently. After a mad run across the airport, we discovered they'd already gone to gate-restricted boarding. Another run to try to get back to the counter to get on the early morning flights.

We'll be getting up at 3:15am to make the 6am flight.

Fun.

Hopefully you'll make the wedding, though, right?

i'm supposed to be on a similar flight on saturday to the same place, but due to a series of health issues, allergic reactions and badly prescribed medications, i'm stuck at home, barely able to keep my eyes open and itchy and rashy all over, out $370 for my flight and wishing i could be there to share the happy occasion :(

unfortunate runs of bad luck:( when you get there, give lots of hugs and take lots of pictures for me.

...wow, that's awful. I'm so sorry.

i suppose i just have to thank my body for somehow warding off the noticeable swelling of my face until the end of our reception on saturday. i still find it a little miraculous that i had been itching everywhere for 20 hours, but didn't have to go to the emergency room until 4 a.m.

but yes. i WISH i could trust my body to be ok to be there this weekend... but ben's at a conference in vancouver, so he wasn't going to be able to be there with me, and i just don't want to fuck up anyone else's weekend with more trips to the ER.

Oh, sweetie. What a way to spend a wedding.

No, while I'm sure everyone wishes you could be there too, at least this way you won't spend the entire thing worrying you'll end up in a hospital far from home.

I hope things balance out again soon.

Delta sux. Fly Continental. :P

~Fyrna, who has been flying Continental out of EWR for as long as she can remember.

Oh believe me, Continental had similar issues. Also, I've had as many or more problems with Continental as Delta.

Depends on the airport you're flying out of. Delta's great out of Atlanta... Continental's great out of Newark. Look for the hubs. Florida's anyone's game.

Best of luck getting there!
