Highlights

Got a haircut and the highlights put back in yesterday. The highlights came out...more dramatic than I'd been thinking. Dunno. I'll give it a few days and see if it grows on me. It's not ugly - it's definitely fashionable. It's just a little more obvious and dramatic than I'd been expecting. Also, the roots are going to show so bad. I'll have to do something about it in a month regardless.

What color are they? Dramatic can be fun sometimes. Today I got the most dramatic haircut I ever had--shoulder-length, sort of layered, more volume, long bangs that sweep across the forehead. I was going for more professional and styled and mainly got what I wanted, although I have to wear a bobby pin to keep some hair out of my face...not sure if I'm a huge fan of the hair right up against my neck, either.

I'd been going for about two shades lighter - sort of a sun-kissed look. Ended up with full-on blond, especially at the temples.

I'm kind of curious. My ability to visualize seems broken, though.

For what it's worth, one of the best haircuts I got was when I let a stylist I trusted cut my hair above-my-ears short -- the style I had during my senior year, which you may or may not remember. So letting stylists do what they want is often a good plan, if they're good stylists.

Even for dramatic highlights, they don't look that bad growing out. Full coloring, on the other hand, does.
