Well, at least the neighbors didn't yell at us this time.
Had a lovely birthday party for Chuckro last night. And no angry neighbors, which is good.
Spent entirely too long on the birthday cake. I was trying out an experiment, as prep for the wedding cake we're doing for Lyriendel. Triple layer chocolate cake with white chocolate cream cheese mousse and cranberry chutney. It's kind of a mishmash of a recipe from my baking book and one from the Chocolate Show. The problem was, the Chocolate Show mousse recipe was not very helpful in indicating the amount of mousse that would result, since the ingredients fluffed up quite a bit. I ended up with a bowl of mousse approximately two and a half times the volume of the cake. Oops. So I frosted the cake...and now have an enormous bowl of mousse.
