So Chuck developed a new, random symptom - violent hiccups whenever he woke up. It started at his parents' house, and then continued all day. If he took a nap, he'd eventually wake himself up hiccuping.

Continued last night, too. Bad enough to shake the entire bed. Several times.

In related news, I don't feel so good. I'm trying to decide whether this is from sleep deprivation or whether I'm getting it too. Also trying to decide whether to leave work sick and go home or not. If it doesn't get any worse than this, I'll feel silly if I use a sick day. But if it gets worse...I don't want to be here when it gets worse. Can't tell whether this is exhaustion and paranoia or genuine sickness.

Don't push yourself. Go home if you feel bad, and if it turns out to be nothing, you can credit good bed rest and relaxation for preventing worse.

I wrote too soon responding to the last entry. I think you should go home now. Don't risk being stuck anywhere.

Actually, I'm feeling a little better. Which kind of implies that I don't have whatever it was that got him.

Have him swallow a teaspoon-full of raw granulated sugar.
That should stop it immediately.
