Oh man, isn't that disconcerting?? I once had a train stop in the middle of a tunnel because of a problem with the track. Over the intercom, the conductor said, "I'm going to get out of the train right now...but I'll be back." WTF??? What do you mean you're going to get out of the train???

Apparently he was fixing the track problem, probably with his bare hands, just enough so our train could make it through. They had to stop trains later to fix it for real.
