2015 Book Review #30: What If?

Title: What If? Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions
Author: Randall Munroe
Genre: Pop science
Thingummies: 5

Synopsis: The subtitle is a pretty good explanation. Physics is weird. People are weirder.

Thoughts: I love Munroe's geeky sense of humor, which has been displayed for over a decade in his comic XKCD. In his "What If?" column, he has been taking people's weird hypothetical questions (What would happen if the moon went away? How high do you have to drop a steak from to cook it from friction?) and giving it the serious thought of a former NASA physicist with a lot of scientist friends. While many of these are repeats from the column, new material is included.

They're hilarious. Really, my biggest complaint is that most of the hovertext is missing, and the hovertext is half the fun of the diagrams.
